Telestream and Fraunhofer IIS are excited to announce the integration of MPEG-H Audio into Telestream’s Vantage media processing platform, supporting broadcasters and content providers in preparation for Brazil’s upcoming DTV+ rollout. This integration enables organizations worldwide to streamline media delivery workflows in the new age of interactive and personalized digital television.

Telestream Vantage Platform
This capability is enabled by Vantage, a turnkey solution that allows broadcasters to automatically transform their media assets into fully compliant MPEG-H Audio object-based productions. This includes the automatic creation and handling of metadata, as well as the encoding of MPEG-H Audio into streaming-ready formats for mass distribution. By eliminating the need for manual adaptation or conversion of individual assets, Vantage enables broadcasters to efficiently unlock the full range of interactive features offered by DTV+, significantly simplifying the transition to immersive and personalized audio workflows.
“With the integration of MPEG-H Audio into Vantage, we are enabling our customers to seamlessly adopt next-generation audio capabilities within their existing workflows”, says Rich Andes, VP of Product Management, Telestream. “This allows broadcasters to deliver richer, more engaging viewing experiences while maintaining efficiency and scalability across their operations.”
Telestream’s Vantage media processing platform is its flagship workflow engine, designed to automate how organizations ingest, process, enrich and deliver content. It combines advanced capabilities such as transcoding, media capture, metadata processing, media analysis and content assembly into a unified, highly automated environment. Content owners, producers and distributors rely on Vantage to efficiently ingest, edit, transform, package, monetize, and distribute their media, enabling faster turnaround times and more scalable operations.
“MPEG-H Audio brings a new level of flexibility and personalization to broadcast audio, which is essential for next-generation services like DTV+”, says Yannik Grewe, Senior Manager – Media Technologies and Business Development, Fraunhofer IIS. “By integrating MPEG-H into Telestream Vantage, we are making it significantly easier for broadcasters to create, manage, and deliver immersive and interactive audio experiences at scale.”
Driving the Transition to DTV+
The integration of MPEG-H Audio into Vantage comes at a key moment as Brazil prepares for the rollout of DTV+, the next generation of digital television. Selected by the SBTVD Forum after extensive evaluation, MPEG-H Audio enables personalized, immersive, and accessible audio experiences, including multi-language support and features such as dialogue enhancement.
DTV+ combines broadcast and broadband to deliver a more interactive and flexible viewing experience, bringing traditional television closer to modern streaming services. Within this ecosystem, MPEG-H Audio plays a central role by allowing viewers to customize their listening experience.
For Vantage users, this integration provides a seamless way to prepare content for DTV+ delivery within existing workflows, enabling broad and efficient creation, processing, and encoding of next-generation audio.
