Step into the Future
Integrate personalized and immersive sound
Production Tools & Plugins
MPEG-H Audio opens the door to personalized, immersive audio. To create the metadata required for this, several renowned manufacturers have designed tools and plugins that meet the needs of state-of-the-art audio production. They rely on the MPEG-H Production Library, a toolbox that comprises everything required for the authoring and monitoring of MPEG-H metadata. The MPEG-H Production Library offers the export and import of MPEG-H Scenes in various MPEG-H Master formats including open formats like ADM and ensures interoperability between tools. Exports are ready for emission and serve as input for MPEG-H encoders.

Encoders
MPEG-H Audio delivers immersive and personalized sound experiences across live broadcast, live streaming, and video-on-demand services. To enable this, MPEG-H Audio encoding tools and devices must handle both high-quality audio and the associated metadata in real-time and file processing. Devices and services have to meet the demands of modern media productions, featuring high quality video encodings, packaging and low-latency delivery.
Two key encoding profiles support the MPEG-H ecosystem:
- The MPEG-H Baseline Profile: A streamlined subset of the Low Complexity Profile, designed for maximum interoperability and reduced implementation effort.
- The MPEG-H Contribution Mode: Tailored for production workflows, where delivery of the highest quality object-based audio and metadata transport from the production site to the central broadcast facility or the cloud is necessary.

Decoder Frameworks & SDKs
MPEG-H Audio enables immersive and personalized playback experiences across a wide range of consumer devices and platforms. To support this, decoder frameworks must integrate multiple MPEG-H components into the device’s multimedia architecture. These include the MPEG-H Audio decoder itself, interfaces for metadata exchange, bitstream parsing, HDMI playback, and user interaction. The goal: seamless interoperability and consistent audio experiences across apps, devices, and environments. Get more information on our GitHub Wiki.
